SOTTR - Game Review

Story: The journey of “Shadow of the Tomb Raider” continues. Lara will go with her best friend, Jonah, to México looking for an artifact sought by her father (and also sought by the Trinity). After she finds it, natural disasters begin to unfold (such as floods). Trinity manages to take over the artifact and Lara runs against time to get the rest of the artifacts to prevent Dominguez from executing a ritual that will make him a god. Will she get it all in time? Discover the clues and find the artifacts? Will she prevent Dominguez from completing the ritual? Will she make an end to catastrophes?

Graphics: They had a slight, very slight, evolution compared to the previous game. There were improvements in Lara's hair and in the facial expressions of the characters. The setting is better.
Gameplay: With the same elements of "Rise of the Tomb Raider", but richer. There are new modes of execution; we can use the environment to our advantage against the enemies; Lara can already use the rope to swing and make safe descents; we have more abilities to unlock in the camp, some of them just unlock by completing optional tombs; we have merchants to buy equipment that will be needed and we can still sell what we do not want; we can create elements for the clothes (twist and pants) that give advantages during the game; among other novelties.
Soundtrack: In the same style as the previous two reboot games, the soundtrack is great and gives the right environment for each situation. Sometimes it contains references to the main theme of the reboot trilogy.

Difficulty: There are four types of difficulty. Smart and Ingenious (easy and contains aim assist), Rite of Passage (normal), United with the Jungle (hard) and Deadly Obsession (very hard). We can also adjust the four difficulties individually in combat, exploration and puzzles.

Durability: The game contains a lot of exploration and has more story and secondary missions than the previous game. If you want to complete the game 100%, prepare to spend hours and hours exploring large maps.

Voice Acting: You notice the evolution of the actors who participated in the previous game (notably Camilla Luddington and Earl Baylon). There is more emotion in the voices, even in the more tense parts of the game.
Characters: Lara has evolved a lot in relation to the previous game, is more mature and unstoppable. Jonah will be an essential element in the story. We will find new characters like Abby (a resident of Kuwaq Yaku), Dominguez (leader of the High Council), Unuratu (queen of Paititi by right and now leader of the rebel group against the Cult of Kukulkan) and several other secondary characters (some I’m not able to mention for reasons of spoiler).

Bugs: Since I just played the review version, I can say that I experienced some bugs. The game crashed a few times during checkpoints, Lara's hair had some distortions (it seemed to disintegrate at the tips) and some problems in the dynamic mesh. As soon as the hotfix is out I'll edit this part.

Notes: The game has improved a lot compared to "Tomb Raider (2013)" and "Rise of the Tomb Raider". Larger maps, more exploration (including in water), more exciting adventures, some puzzles are more complex, Lara is more mature and cunning ... Sincerely, congratulations, this game has surpassed my expectations on several levels. Keep up the good work and I hope the franchise will improve further.
